06 June 2005. The contest deadline is June 30th. I think I've procrastinated quite enough. I have the fabric for the hat, the sleeves, and the bodice. I'm using our own handkerchief linen for Maddie's shift and our Judy 02 linen for her stays. I've bought a ball of the heavy hemp cord for the stays from *cringe* Wal-Mart. I have the shift drafted and cut out, and the stays drafted. I used Drea's corset and shift generators to accomplish these, and will cut the stays out of scrap fabric and test the corded stiffening before I cut them out of the linen. I drafted the stays with very little dip in the front, as the gown pictured shows none. I'm planning on lacing the tiny bumroll directly to the stays to keep it from sliding down her non-existent hips.
