This skirt is of the style used during late and post Civil War period. It is designed to be worn over TV103, Elliptical Cage Crinoline. The front and sides are gored, fitted to the waist with a pleat at each seam. The full back is tightly gathered into a few inches. This skirt has 9 panels in all, and is about 185" at the hem The placket is in the center back seam. A pocket is in the right side seam. The hem is 42" long in front, lengthening in back to 49", for floor length all around the elliptical cage.

This Riding skirt, also known as a habit train, was worn while riding sidesaddle. It was drafted based on a tailoring guide from 1883, and is historically correct for 1880-1885. It is shorter on the left hand side, longer on the right hand side, and shaped to fit over the right knee. When in the saddle, the hem should hang level front to back. For walking, the right knee has a loop which attaches to a button at the center back. When looped up the skirt becomes floor length all around, and drapes prettily on the right hip.

This skirt is the classic can-can skirt of the 1890's. Calf length, it is a full circle skirt, with a lining loaded with ruffles. Center back closure. This skirt is suitable for dance hall and saloon wear.

This skirt pattern is taken from an original Metropolitan Pattern Co. pattern of 1898. It consists of 7 gores, with gathers at the center back. It is moderatly full and has hem facings for added support. The closure is at the center back . This shape is suitable as a basic walking skirt from 1892-1900.

This skirt is drafted based on a drafting method taken from a turn-of-the-century tailoring guide. The front panel extends the full length of the skirt, while the sides and back are cut with a fitted upper section and a tapered flare to add fullness at the hem. It has box pleats on either side of the center back closure. An optional kick pleat can be added to the front seams at the hem. This style of skirt was extremely popular from 1898-1903, and can be used for both day and evening wear.
This pattern for a split skirt is taken from a tailoring guide of 1901. The Split Riding Skirt is ankle length, and the Bicycle Skirt is calf length. The center front has buttons to close the split. The center back has double box pleats to hide the split legs. There are two side front plackets with flaps for the closure.
This skirt is suitable for riding, hiking, bicycling, hunting, and other sporting outfits.

The perfect overskirt for with the Fantail Skirt. Open in the front, with gathers at the front and sides to form the pannier effect. The back is looped up behind the knees with a drawstring. Does not fit over a bustle.

This is a loose fitting blouse, in a style commonly worn as a summer garment from 1878-1889. It is perfect for sheer or light weight fabrics, and is unlined and not boned. It has a yoked front and back, with plenty of fullness around the body for every body type, even maternity. Buttoned down the center front, with a small round, rolled collar. The sleeve is a 2-piece sleeve, with a little extra room above the elbow, yet fitted to the wrist. The blouse was commonly worn tucked into the skirt, but was also seen worn belted over the skirt.
The blouse is drafted based on a tailoring method actually used in the 1870's. Each size is hand drawn, not scaled. All of the blouse seams are true to the era, and can be worn with or without a corset.

This bodice is designed after styles shown in many fashion magazines of 1884. The front of this bodice has a simulated vest portion. This vest can be of a different fabric and trimmed to effect. The front outline is pointed and the sides curve upward over the hip. The back and side-back have short "tails" that lay in loose box pleats to fit over any size bustle. The sleeve is in 2 pieces, and can be made either full, princess, or 3/4-length. There is a double Military collar, which can also be made of separate fabric, to continue the vest effect.

This is a double breasted habit bodice taken from an 1883 tailoring guide. This was one style that was very popular during the late bustle era, and is suitable for 1882-1889. It has a roll collar/lapel, double points in the front, and square tail with a center back vent. The 2-piece coat sleeve is very slim, with a slightly full head. Combine this bodice with TV264 -1883 Habit Skirt for riding outfit. Or wear it with a regular skirt and overskirt for a tailored day dress.
This is a basic gathered Blouse Waist, which was popular in 1893. It has a gathered front and back, with a fitted lining. The center front is cut on the straight of grain, for use with plaids and stripes. The sleeve is the Balloon Sleeve, popular in 1893-94, and has a fitted lining. The Jabot is removable. The gathered blouse waist style was popular from the 1880s, and with a different sleeve, can easily be adapted to the late bustle era. Or, left sleeveless, it can be used effectively as a "vest" for wear under jackets for an 1880-1900 look.

The Truly Victorian Corselet is designed to be worn on the outside, similar to a wide belt, and shaped to fit snug to the body. This pattern contains two corselets, one tall and one short. Both extend below the waist a few inches and have points in front and back. They both lace at the center back. The short corset is 4" wide at the side and 8" center front and back. The tall corset is 6" wide at the sides and 9 1/2" at the front and back. Fully boned, this corselet will retain the perfect shape through extended wear. They can fit with or without a bustle.

This is a semi-fitted jacket that hangs open in the front, usually worn over a blouse. It has two styles, one crop length with a rounded collar. The other, waist length with a square collar. The main body is in three pieces, Back, Side Back, and Front. The front is fitted with a single dart. The sleeve is in two pieces, fitted to well above the elbow and with a full sleeve head. Fully lined, this jacket is not boned, and can be worn with or without a corset. With the sleeve as given, this style is suitable for 1889-1893 and 1897-1899. By changing sleeves with pattern TV495, this jacket can also be perfect for 1894-1896.

This mantle is taken from the 1871 Butterick Pattern Catalog. It has a semi fitted back, held in place by a belt around the waist, with pleats and slits to fit over a bustle. The front is also belted and has two points. The mantle sides fall gracefully over the arm to give a "flowing sleeve" effect. A pointed collar add detail to the neckline. The center front is closed with buttons.

This elbow length cape was seen throughout the 1890's as the basic wrap of the times. It is cut in the Military style, also known as the 3/4 Cape. It can be cut with a straight or scalloped hem. The revers at the center front are optional. The collar is the stand-with-flair style, with wires to support the shape. The lining fabric is seen at the inside collar and optional reveres.
This pattern provides for a fully lined cape, and it can be interlined with flannel for warmth. The closure can be cloak clasps, coat hooks, or frogs, as desired.
This design is taken from an original pattern given in an 1869 La Mode Illustre. It was stated as for girls ages 2-4 years old. It has the front of the dress in princess lines, with the back and sides having an attached skirt. The waist line is slightly above the natural waist. The skirt is very full in the center back, fitting smoothly on the sides. It has a square neckline, and a center back button closure. The sleeve is a full length 2-piece sleeve. The dress back has a belt that can be adjusted with a button to make the garment fit more closely if desired.
